 chance to name myself.
Not in a poetic way. Not in a cinematic way. In the real way. The kind where people look at where you come from, how you move, what you wear, and decide who you are before you ever open your mouth. Labels came easy to them. Too easy. And once they placed them on you, they expected you to carry them like truth.
Rough.
Difficult.
Too much.
Not enough.
Whatever fit their narrative.
But what they never understood is that growing up like that does not break you if you are paying attention. It builds something in you. Something quiet at first. Something that learns how to stand before it ever learns how to speak.
